The Lost iPhone Saga Continues…

Yesterday CNET reported another iPhone prototype had been lost at a bar, and has yet to be recovered, even after SFPD and Apple searched the house it was believed to be hiding.

Now, the story gets a little weird.

According to SFPD spokesman Officer Albie Esparaza, the department has no record of such an investigation.

"I talked to CNET" reporter Declan McCullagh, Esparza told SF Weekly. "I don't know who his source is, but we don't have any record of any such an investigation going on at this point."

The incident would have been handled by either Mission or Ingleside stations, and neither have records. He also noted that police dispatchers have no records of any incident involving the address where the alleged search took place.
