Lady Gaga Responds to Borough President “Slut” Comment

James Molinaro made the remark after photos surfaced of the pop superstar lighting what appears to be a marijuana cigarette at an Amsterdam concert

Lady Gaga has indirectly responded to a New York City politician who called her a "slut.''

The pop star didn't mention Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro in her Tweet, but she did thank his Manhattan counterpart, Scott Stringer, for speaking out in her defense.

She told Stringer: "You show political integrity + a modern vernacular.''

Molinaro made the remark Monday during an anti-substance abuse event. He pointed to photos of the singer lighting what appears to be a marijuana cigarettes at an Amsterdam concert last week.

Stringer defended Gaga in an interview with the New York Observer's Politicker website.

He said Lady Gaga "is a social justice activist and a real leader for marriage equality in this country.''
