Scoop: Stewart Doesn’t Want Jolie-level Fame

"Twilight" star Kristen Stewart desires low profile

The era of the fame-averse might actually be upon us. “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart, who helped the film franchise gross almost $400 million worldwide, said she doesn’t have an interest in blockbuster-level celebrity.

"I don't want to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie," Stewart told BlackBook magazine.

Stewart points out a distinction that’s often made but rarely plays out among the most successful in the industry, that acting and being a celebrity are two different things.

“Nothing about being a celebrity is desirable," the 19 year-old insisted. "I'm an actor. It's bizarre to me that everybody's so obsessive."

The desire to keep some semblance of a low profile is one that Stewart shares with her “Twilight” co-star and rumored significant other Robert Pattinson. “I guess I’m not the type of guy cut out to do a franchise,” he told Vanity Fair. “I’m not much of a crowd person.”

According to In Touch Weekly, Holmes (dressed as a Dalmatian) and Cruise (dressed as a scarecrow) took daughter Suri (dressed a princess) trick-or-treating at the Prudential Center. An onlooker told the magazine, “Suri looked like she was having fun.”

Is the family’s low-profile streak a matter of simple geography? Time will tell: Holmes begins filming “The Romantics” in New York this week. She replaces Liv Tyler in the film, and Holmes will also be executive producer, a first for her.

On Monday’s “Colbert Report,” Stephen Colbert announced his show would step in to become the primary sponsor for the U.S. Speedskating team at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.

The original team sponsor, Dutch bank DSB Bank NV, backed out after declaring bankruptcy in October. Is the bailout another of Colbert’s acts of patriotism, or just smart brand marketing? Probably both, and Colbert and speedskating will ultimately benefit.

“On their enormous, billboard thighs, it will say, ‘Colbert Nation,’” Colbert said in an interview before Monday evening’s taping. “Be looking for that logo as it comes around the final turn. It will be easy to see because it will be in first place.”
