One of the Bay Area's most expensive dishes can melt in mere moments.
Three Twins Ice Cream, which originated in the North Bay, offers “The World’s Most Expensive Ice Cream Sundae” for $3,333.33.
The haute couture take on a banana split is made with syrups from three rare dessert wines (a vintage port, a Chateau D’Yquem and a German Trockenbeerenauslese), served with a 19th Century ice cream spoon.

Customers who order it at least a day in advance have the option to eat their sundae with musical accompaniment by a live cellist.
One-third of the price is donated to a local land trust. A rep for the company said that Three Twins has sold three or four of them since first being offered in 2014.
The concept sounds like something that could only be invented in San Francisco, but it was likely inspired by "Golden Opulence," the $1,000 sundae that's been served for the past decade at New York's Serendipity 3.
On a more "budget" scale, the shop also offers a "Twinasaurus," a 20-scoop sundae served in a pot for a pricetag of $45.
