Thai Soccer Team Sits Down With Ellen for First Group Interview Since Rescue

The team will recount their harrowing experience being trapped in a flooded Thai cave for 18 days

The Wild Boars soccer team from Chiang Rai, Thailand, sits down for their first group interview since their extraordinary rescue on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Monday, Oct. 15.

The team recounts their harrowing experience being trapped in a flooded Thai cave for 18 days. Members of the group explain how they remained calm and positive with prayer and meditation until their successful rescue, which captured the world’s attention.

Each individual rescue took around eight hours, but most don’t have much recollection because they were sedated during the effort. The boys also share that four of their teammates spent their birthdays inside the cave; however, they did not celebrate.

DeGeneres surprises the team with Ellen-ized soccer jerseys and brings out international soccer star, LA Galaxy’s Zlatan Ibrahimović, who praises them as the best team in the world.
