Teen on Life Support After Suffering Brain Aneurysm During Softball Game

Family and friends continue to hold out hope and pray for a miracle 72 hours after a Southern California teen collapsed while up to bat during a softball game.

Dana Housley suffered a suspected brain aneurysm during the last inning of her travel softball team’s tournament in Fontana Saturday, according to a GoFundMe page setup by one of her coaches to help her family cover medical expenses.

The Etiwanda High School student was unresponsive and rushed to a hospital.

Unable to breath on her own and without brain activity, Dana was placed on life support.

Her chance of survival was slim, according to her GoFundMe page.“The softball community throughout the country has prayed for her, thanks to social media. However, we only have until Monday morning for God to answer our prayers before she is going to be taken off of life support.”

As of Tuesday, Dana was still on life support. Using the hashtags #DanasMiracle and #PrayForDana, friends showed their support for The California Thunder first baseman on social media.

One post that was shared nearly 1,000 times over read, "Please pray for Dana...We need a miracle. If we all come together, God just might answer our prayers."

The circumstances surrounding Dana’s life support were unclear but an update posted on her GoFundMe page Monday stated, "we are still fighting for hope."
