LAPD Continues Search For Possible Kidnapper After Lengthy Pursuit Through Two Counties

NBC Universal, Inc.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were chasing a suspected kidnapper through several cities Saturday night before they lost sight of the driver.

LAPD began chasing the driver of a white pickup truck in the South Los Angeles area, crossing through Paramount, Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs and then going into Orange County.

The driver was seen speeding through highways and surface streets and circling through a parking lot trying to find his way out.

Police believe the driver was involved in the attempted kidnapping of a woman.

The woman's identity and age were not known, but police said she was not with the driver at the time of the pursuit. Authorities told NBC4 that as of Sunday morning, she is safe and not with the suspect.

The pursuit crossed through LA and Orange counties and ended up back where it initally began in South LA.

LAPD lost sight of the driver but were continuing to search the area.

No further details were immediately available.
