Poke-Zombies Invade Bay Area's Public Spaces

Pokemon Go Inspires Warnings, Obsession, Slacking Off

Across the Bay Area, they're taking to the streets, plazas and public spaces -- PokeZombies zoned out on their phones, playing the new blockbuster app.

In downtown Concord, multiple people admitted to skipping out off work to play the game on their smartphones.

Concord Police Cpt. Chris Blakely joined a chorus of law enforcement officials warning users to use caution with the app -- stay alert to traffic and criminals who see spaced out Pokemon hunters as easy prey.

The game is getting people out of the house. But maybe the real danger is users missing out on the world around them.
