Two passengers were ejected into the ocean but miraculously survived Thursday after a head-on crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Point Mugu sent one vehicle into the surf.

A Toyota Corolla carrying three people came to rest after launching over a guardrail in the 6:30 p.m. crash.

"They were able to swim along with the driver to shore," said Officer Kevin Denharder, of the California Highway Patrol.

The second car, a Mini Cooper rolled several times with the driver inside. She had minor injuries.

The crash shut down PCH for hours.

"I'm glad the people that got into the accident survived," said Rick Ganivet, of La Mirada. "That's a good thing. Hopefully they go back to their families safe."
