Email Scam Targets New Apple-Product Owners

It's new and shiny. You're excited. You fire up your new iPad/iPhone/MacBook Air/other product and you see an email asking you to update your Apple billing information. So you do. And now you're scammed.

Writers at The Mac Security Blog have surfaced a massive email phising scam targeted at new owners of sexy Apple products.

The email asks that users update their billing information via a rogue link. The landing page looks real enough that asks for users' Apple ID and password, then a fake account page.

Intego (the Mac security blog) adds that rolling over the link and examining the URL is critical to a user's security. The fake address has an "apple.htm" at the end of it, which could fool people, but it's not an apple.com address.
