Officials to Release Investigation of Teen's Fatal Shooting

The Memphis district attorney general's office is planning to release the investigation of a white police officer's fatal shooting of a black teenager.

The unusual release planned for Tuesday morning comes after a grand jury declined to indict Officer Connor Schilling on charges of voluntary manslaughter and use of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Police say Schilling shot and killed 19-year-old Darrius Stewart during a fight at a traffic stop on July 17.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation files are normally confidential under state law, but a Memphis court has ordered the file released.

Meanwhile, U.S. Attorney Edward Stanton III, in Memphis, said Monday that his office is reviewing the shooting along with the FBI and Justice Department's Civil Rights Division.
