NATO Delays Libya Mission End-Date Announcement

NATO has delayed the announcement for the end-date of its bombing campaign in Libya amid discussions with the U.N. and the country's new government, The Associated Press reports. The alliance said last week it would end the operation on Oct. 31 and officially make the announcement on Wednesday, now that the National Transitional Council has gained full control of the country in an offensive that ended with Khaddafy's capture and death. But Carmen Romero of the North Atlantic Council said NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen won't make the formal decision until Friday. Some alliance members are worried ending air patrols too quickly would reignite violence in the country, CBS News reports.
