Tony Parker “Aware” Eva Longoria Planned to Divorce

Tony Parker said it wasn't a shock that “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria was planning to pull the plug on their marriage.

“Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately,” Parker told Us and People in a statement on Thursday. “I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles.”

The 28-year-old San Antonio Spurs point guard did not comment on the latest infidelity rumor surrounding his relationship with Longoria, that of supposed racy text messages between him and another woman.

But Parker did take address a TMZ report, later rescinded, that claimed Parker had first filed for divorce himself.

"I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California," he said. "We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private."

Longoria, 35, and Parker were engaged November 2006 and wed the next year at Chateau of Vaux le Vicomte, a 17th Century castle on the outskirts of Paris.

"It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce," Longoria tweeted Wednesday after filing paperwork. "We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."

Parker also posted the same message on his Facebook page.
