Jesuits Settle Native American Abuse Claims For $166 Million

A Jesuit order will pay $166.1 million and apologize to over 450 Native Americans and Alaskan natives who were abused at its schools in the Northwest. Plaintiffs have argued that the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus were putting priests known to have problems into the mission schools, Seattlepi.com reported. An attorney who represented some of the plaintiffs said: "Instead of teaching these Native American children about the love of God, these pedophile priests were molesting these children.”
