Gadhafi's Forces Push Through Rebel City

Western leaders have begun military action in Libya just hours after Moammar Gadhafi's forces entered the rebel-held city of Benghazi this morning. French planes have entered Libyan airspace to prevent further attacks on the city, and Bloomberg reported that they are ready to carry out air strikes if ordered by President Nicolas Sarkozy. Earlier, Al Jazeera correspondents in the city reported explosions and a rebel fighter jet being shot down. At the city's Jala Hospital, there were 26 killed and more than 40 wounded in the bombardment. President Obama demanded a cease-fire from Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and vowed to work with the UN to establish a no-fly zone in the embattled nation.
