Aubrey O'Day: My Pup “Prefers” Her Fur to Be Dyed

Ex-Danity Kane singer says her pup likes the colorful dye

Aubrey O'Day's colorful pooch is definitely a show stopper.

The ex-Danity Kane singer who was kicked to the curb from Diddy's girl group fended off critics who who said the singer-turned-Playboy model shouldn't be dyeing her pooch's fur.

"She prefers it," O'Day told Usmagazine.com. "[The dog] loves attention and because she's colored and has different outfits, she gets so much of it."

The crooner most recently was spotted toting around her 1-year-old teacup Maltese Ginger whose paws, ears and tail were dyed green at an event in New York City two weeks ago. She changes the dog's look "for different occasions and recently died her green because she "loves the [Boston] Celtics," she said.

"She likes to have looks," O'Day told Usmagazine.com. "It actually seems like such a taboo weird thing nowadays, but if you research online, you will see a whole underworld of dogs who are dyed."

O'Day said she's working on a natural dog dye and said her vet has to sign off on any color she applies to her pooch, the magazine reported.

"I do it like anyone would color hair," she said. "She sits on my lap, and I have a brush, and I paint it on and use foils."

The singer recently made headlines when she said in an interview on Fox News that both Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and Hitler were "brilliant."
