On Wednesday the wonders of technology met the miracle of birth.
A US soldier serving in the Middle East was able to take part in his wife giving birth to their first son in Minnesota on July 4 thanks to an Apple computer and Skype.
Ted Freese was able to use the VoIP app to virtually be in the room with his wife and to coach her through the app.
A MacBook was set up next to Freese's wife's bed and he was able to watch the birth and talk her through it in real time.
