Man Sought in Attacks on Bus Riders in Los Angeles County

The attacks occurred from June 16 to Tuesday

Sheriff's Transit Services detectives asked for the public's help Thursday to locate a man who has been attacking riders on Metro buses throughout Los Angeles County.

The assaults occurred between June 16 and Tuesday June 24, according to the sheriff's department.

There were several victims who have come forward to report the assaults that occurred," LA County Sheriff's Deputy Grace Medrano said.

The suspect was described as a male Latino, between 21 and 25 years old, with black, short hair and brown eyes. He stands about 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.

He also has a tattoo on his right biceps, according to the sheriff's department.

Police believe the suspect may be a homeless man. They do not have a name for him and believe he may have used stolen cards to ride the Metro bus.

Anyone with information on this suspect was asked to call sheriff's Transit Services Detective Frank Richter at (323) 563-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS. All tips can be made anonymously.
