Man Charged in Freeway Road Rage Attack

A 35-year-old man was charged on Tuesday in connection with a freeway road rage in which he allegedly stopped his car on the Ventura (134) Freeway and attacked another driver, prosecutors said.

Dikran Gligoriu pleaded not guilty to one felony count each of child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, a car, and one misdemeanor count each of battery and reckless driving on a highway.

Gligoriu is scheduled back in court to set a date for a preliminary hearing on July 18.

On Feb. 10, the defendant was allegedly driving westbound in the left lane of the 134 Freeway near Glendale Boulevard when he suddenly came to a complete stop, causing the vehicles behind him to slam on their brakes to avoid a collision, prosecutors said.

Gligoriu, who had three children inside his vehicle, reportedly then exited his car and attacked the driver of the vehicle behind him, prosecutors added.

Bail was set at $100,000. If convicted as charged, Gligoriu faces more than seven years in state prison.
