Someone in San Francisco is holding a Mega Millions lottery ticket worth more than a half-million dollars, matching 5 of 6 numbers in Tuesday night's near-record $1.537 billion draw, California Lottery officials confirmed.
The ticket was sold at the Safeway supermarket at 730 Taraval St. in the city's West Portal neighborhood, officials said. The ticket is worth $562,000 and change.
The winning numbers are: 5, 28, 62, 65, 70 and the Mega number 5.
There were no jackpot winners in California, but a ticket purchased in South Carolina matched all six numbers, bringing the next Mega Millions jackpot back down to Earth at a mere $40 million.
There were seven other 5-of-6 tickets sold in California, including one in Stockton and another in San Luis Obispo.
A week ago, another San Francisco Safeway store was the site of a $1.9 million 5-of-6 Mega Millions winner. It turned out to be a bakery worker from that very store.
On Friday, a 5-of-6 Mega Millions ticket worth $3.4 million was sold at a Morgan Hill AM-PM store.

And in July in San Jose, a group of Wells Fargo workers who pooled their money together hit the $543 million Mega Millions jackpot with a ticket bought at Ernie's Liquors.
Another huge jackpot is up for grabs Wednesday with the Powerball jackpot sitting at an estimated $620 million.
