Lady Gaga's Cheaper on Amazon

Score Lady Gaga's new album for 99 cents on Amazon's cloud music service. What's that? You hadn't heard of Amazon's music locker? Maybe that first sentece will help spread the word.

If users hadn't noticed that Amazon's cloud music service is up and running, beating Apple out of the gate, a near-free offering of the ubiquitous celebutainer's recent offering should raise the service's profile.

"Born This Way" is a 14-track "golden spaceship touching down on a rainbow runway in a field of fresh mint" -- and it'll run you $11.99 on Apple's iTunes. But Apple is pushing the super-sexy, 22-track edition for $15.99.

Peter Kafka at AllThingsD muses that the music labels that weren't so hot for the cloud services, including Google's yet-to-launch offering, seem to be OK with the idea, as having anyone competing with Apple is a good thing.
