Action movie star Jeremy Renner can't seem to avoid life-or-death confrontations even on his days off.
The "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" and "Avengers" star was visiting the Racheda Pub in Phuket, Thailand with several friends during a break from filming the upcoming "Bourne Legacy" when the group was violently attacked by staffers following an altercation.
According to the Phuket Gazette, Renner and his group were attacked by staffers of the Racheda Pub when one of Renner's party - a man named Vorasit Issara, who is the general manager of a Thai resort - apparently broke a glass. This lead to a verbal altercation, followed by violent escalation.

One of the staffers was actually wielding an axe during the fracas.
Although Renner quickly left the scene and was uninjured, Issara was not so lucky. He was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed in the stomach and slashed in the neck by the axe. He is in serious condition.
The six pub staffers have all reportedly confessed to their involvement in the attack, and are being charged with attempted murder.
A representative for Renner confirmed the incident to E! News, and explained that Renner "was at the bar when the fight broke out and he exited," adding that he was "not injured" and "not involved."
