Rocker and reality star Bret Michaels thinks he knows who's going to be filling Simon Cowell's chair on American Idol next season.
“We have a meeting in L.A. in a couple weeks and we’re going to sit down and talk,” Michaels said in an interview with Parade magazine. “(‘Idol’) did a poll and I think it was Madonna, P. Diddy, Howard Stern and myself, and I took 50 percent or 60 percent of the vote and that’s tremendous. I would love to be a judge on ‘American Idol.’ I think I would bring a lot to the table.”
But Michaels quickly added that he's not sure how things will play out.
I don't know (if I’m going to replace Cowell)," he said.
Fremantle, the producers of the mega-hit, issued a "no comment" on the rumors.

The former lead singer of 80s hair band Poison, Michaels has become a mainstay of reality television in recent years. He has his own dating show, "Rock of Love," on VH1 and recently won Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" shortly after surviving a near-death scare caused by a brain hemorrhage.
Whatever the case with Michaels, another high-profile candidate's chances seem to be fading, if his wife is to be believed.
“I think it would be great,” said Beth Ostrosky Stern, wife of XM radio shock jock Howard Stern, in an interview with People. “But do I think it’s going to happen? No.”
She doesn't seem too torn up about the possibility of keeping Howard at home with her when the newest season starts in the fall, though.
"I’m so lucky that I get to sit next to him when we watch American Idol every week,” she said. “I’m in stitches, he’s so funny but yet he’s very serious about it. And he’s also a big cheerleader for the contestants and he’s very honest.”
