Holidays in Yountville: Just Ahead

Give some love to Napa Valley while visiting this seasonally sweet must-do.

RETURNING TO NAPA VALLEY... before the year is out? Many travelers are vowing to stop by the restaurants, boutiques, wineries, and hotels they love, either over the holidays or to get some shopping done, to show support to the area and those who call it home following the fires of October 2017. One perennial happening that arrives each November wearing a whole kit of sleigh bells and holly is a multi-day event known for its carriage rides, its wine tours, and its numerous festive to-dos. It's Holidays in Yountville: The Brightest Town in Napa Valley, and it will once again shake its sleigh bells, and welcome visitors to the vivacious village, beginning on Monday, Nov. 20. Look for "thousands of twinkly lights" to stay on nightly for...

SIX WEEKS, which means you have from the Monday before Thanksgiving to New Year's Day to soak in the splendor. That splendor also includes the complimentary carriage rides around town, one of the hallmarks of a Yountville yuletide, and the gourmet food & wine tours (of course those'll be part of the celebratory calendar, given the location). Snapshots with Santa himself? Those will happen on select days throughout the run. Candy cane-sweet movies, live performances, and "The Nutcracker"? They'll all pop up, with cheer, music, and feel-good-a-tude, at the Lincoln Theater. And the other activities are as plentiful as cranberries on a string, from wreath-making workshops to a Cocktail-Making 101 Class at Domaine Chandon.

RELATIVES VISITING FOR THANKSGIVING? Or for much of December? Or all of December? Here's where you clip-clop for a full day of noshery, festive films, small-town sparkle, and those famous carriage rides. It's all in Yountville, beginning on the 20th day of November.
