Wedding Gown Giveaway for Military Brides on Veterans Day

A wedding dress company is taking "dreams come true" to a whole new level by providing hundreds of military brides with free wedding dresses on Veterans Day in Operation Gown Giveaway.

Military brides twirled in gowns at the Beverly Grove in Los Angeles.

As to be expected, it got emotional.

"Personally that moment when my sister came out in her gown, I saw her go from my baby sister to a bride," Melany Stone, sister of a military bride, said as she began to cry. "Really a profound moment for me and I'm forever grateful to Alfred Angelo for giving me this moment with my sister."

Her sister felt the love as well.

"They went out of their way to make it a really beautiful day," Sarah Stone said.

Alfredo Angelo, a company that sells wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses nationally, was giving back to active duty military women Wednesday.

Leo Benoit, the vice president of retail operations, is a Vietnam veteran himself.

He thought of the idea after he took a military bride to one of the company’s stores.

Active duty women only need to make an appointment with their local stores, which can be found here on the company’s site. There are 62 stores in the U.S.

When you get to the store, present your military ID to show that you are currently serving in the U.S. military.

"As I was talking to one of our brides who happened to be in the military, and who clearly was sacrificing so much as part of her service to our country, I thought that Alfred Angelo could honor and give-back to the women- who are such a crucial part of our active duty military," Benoit said.
