George Clooney and Google Team Up

George Clooney left more than a captive audience on his recent visit to the Bay Area. The Hollywood hunk apparently left quite an impression on nearby Google as well.

Clooney sold out an auditorium down on the farm last month to talk about the ongoing troubles in Sudan.

Wednesday the actor was joined by Google, the United Nations and the Harvard Human Initiative launched a joint project to prevent another civil war in Sudan.

The project called Satellite Sentinel will monitor the African country via satellite in the hopes of preventing war from breaking out.

The Sudanese people are set to vote on a referendum next month for independence. Some observers fear that the vote could lead to violence.

Using satellites, the group hopes to capture any possible threats to the Sudanese people and monitor villages or other signs of pending violence.
