FBI Files May Confirm Notorious B.I.G. Killer

The shooting death of rapper Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie Smalls aka Christopher Wallace in 1997 was never solved, and theories have abounded as to what exactly went down that night in Las Vegas, who was to blame, and who dropped the ball.

Recently released FBI files stop short of definitively answering those questions, but it certainly seems to confirm one very likely suspect.

Former LAPD officer David Mack, who was arrested for an unrelated crime (plotting a bank heist) shortly after Wallace's death and just released from prison last year, appears to be the prime suspect.

The files indicate that Wallace was killed with a very rare form of ammunition, which is available through only two distributors in the U.S. A search of Mack's home conducted by the LAPD found the exact same ammunition. Witnesses also reported that someone driving a black Chevy SS Impala pulled up next to Wallace's car and began firing. Guess what kind of car Mack drove?

Add to this Mack's known association with Death Row Records founder Marion "Suge" Knight (whose biggest artist, Tupac Shakur, was gunned down six months before Wallace) and what LAPD claim was a "shrine" to Shakur found in Mack's home and, well, the evidence seems pretty damning.

These documents also seem to reinforce the wrongful death suit filed by Wallace's family against Mack in 2007, and would indicate either some kind of massive cover-up (as some have suggested) or, at very least, a colossal bungling of the case by the LAPD considering the evidence.
