Facebook Users Taking Breaks from Social Networking

To Facebook every day is to Facebook more than the average American, many of whom take breaks for weeks at a time or more, according to reports.

A new study from the Pew Research Center reveals that 61 percent of Facebook users take breaks for Lent, for holidays, or just because they became sick of the content, according to the Associated Press.

A total of 67 percent of American adults who use the Internet are also on Facebook, the researchers say. But 20 percent of those Americans with Internet access say they used Facebook once but no longer do.

Facebook, based in Menlo Park, claims 1.06 billion users worldwide who use the network at least once a month, the news source reported. Mostly boredom with the site is the reason why, according to reports: only 4 percent of users said security is a concern.
