EPA Announces Steps to Cut Carbon Pollution

A sweeping plan to cut carbon emissions in the U.S. was announced by the Obama administration on Monday, NBC News reported. In a new proposal from the Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. power plants will have to cut their carbon emissions by 30 percent from 2005 levels by 2030. "The White House scheme will raise costs and destroy American jobs," said Michael Steel, spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner.
