Straight from the digital horse's mouth, as it were.
Elizabeth Banks isn't waiting for anyone else to break the news - she took to Twitter and announced her casting in "The Hunger Games."
"Yes! And I can now confirm I'm EFFIE TRINKET in @TheHungerGames. So excited!" she wrote.
U.S. & World
Banks joins a cast that already includes "Winter Bone" star Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson ("The Kids Are All Right"), and Liam Hemsworth ("Knowing," brother of the Mighty Thor).
The character of Effie is described as an "escort" for "District 12" who comes into close contact with Katniess Everdeen (Lawrence) and her sister, Prim.
If you "squee'd" at any of those words, well then we imagine this is good casting. If not, we'll have to wait and see. But we do know this - Banks has never let us down. Ever. So any movie that casts her is doing something right.
