Ecotopia in Santa Barbara

SB <3 PE: We're not going to say that Santa Barbara and Planet Earth are sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g, but the city certainly has a soft spot for this big and fragile place we call home. How soft? Earth Day, a holiday now observed in countless places around its namesake, was born in the city. Which means that every April, which happens to be the month that Earth Day occurs in, is a big old planet-loving month 'round Santa Barbara parts. They call it Ecotopia, which is just fine by us. So we shall, too.

ECOTOPIA MONTH: The centerpiece event is naturally Earth Day itself, which will be celebrated over Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 at Alameda Park.
