Bella Bond's Mother Expected in Court

Rachelle Dee Bond will be arraigned on Wednesday.

The mother of a 2-year-old girl who came to be known as "Baby Doe" when her unidentified body washed up on a Massachusetts beach last summer will be arraigned Wednesday in connection with the murder case surrounding her daughter's death.

Rachelle Dee Bond, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, will appear in court Jan. 6 on charges of being an accessory after the fact to the murder of her daughter, Bella Bond.

She will also answer to a larceny charge for allegedly continuing to accept public assistance benefits intended for Bella after the toddler's death.

Bella's body was found on Deer Island near Boston's Logan Airport on June 25.

Bond's boyfriend and co-defendant, Quincy resident Michael Patrick McCarthy, is set to be arraigned next Monday on an indictment charging him with Bella's murder.

Both pleaded not guilty at earlier arraignments.
