Ashton Kutcher Debuts as Steve Jobs at Sundance

At least one of the new biopics about Steve Jobs will debut in January and star Ashton Kutcher as Apple's visionary, according to reports.

On Jan. 27, "jOBS" will be screened at the Sundance Film Festival. It seems as if festival organizers think it's a big deal because the film is closing the festival. According to Sundance:

The true story of one of the greatest entrepreneurs in American history, jOBS chronicles the defining 30 years of Steve Jobs’ life. jOBS is a candid, inspiring and personal portrait of the one who saw things differently. Cast: Ashton Kutcher, Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons, Matthew Modine.

That means the film will cover Jobs' early life, the creation of Apple and his years at NeXt and Pixar. However, the film isn't based on the Jobs-sanctioned biography by Walter Isaacson, that movie is still being written by Aaron Sorkin of "The Social Network" fame.

Still no word on when the Kutcher vehicle will be ready for widespread release.
