Apple Needs A Third Campus

Apple's new spaceship campus attracted a lot of attention when Steve Jobs proposed it to the Cupertino City Council. The new campus is expected to house 13,000 Apple employees, but Cupertino's mayor is saying Apple's growing so fast, it needs a third one. What will that one look like?

Cupertino's mayor Gilbert Wong says that Apple execs "told him the company is expanding so fast that it expects to start working on Apple Campus 3 at an unknown location after they finish the second headquarters in 2015."

If the new campus already looks like a spaceship — a symbol of state-of-the-art technology, how can Apple possibly top it? One thing is for sure, it won't be made of red brick and it'll use lots and lots of glass.

Apple's extremely serious when it comes to design — not only for its products, but for its retail stores as well. For example, even the lines on the sidewalk have to be redesigned to match the glass facade of an Apple Store.

It's that meticulousness that Apple design emphasizes that makes it world-class, for sure. What do I want Apple's next campus to look like? A giant glass volcano or pyramid. Yeahhh.
