All Aboard for an Amtrak Disneyland Deal, Toot Toot

The "take the train and save" promotion has returned to the Pacific Surfliner.

What to Know

  • Save 5% on Disneyland Park admission
  • Kids ride free to Disneyland with a paid adult
  • Through May 20, 2019

How many different Disneyland-based modes of transport can you name?

There are the Matterhorn Bobsleds, of course, the twirly vehicles inside Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, the long, bench-laden logs of Splash Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion's iconic Doom Buggies.

Likewise, there are many conveyances located outside of The Happiest Place on Earth, and several of them can take you to Anaheim, should you want to spend the day at Disneyland Park.

One of the most classic, and, truly, closest to what Walt Disney loved best? A train, of course. And it so happens that Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner has a very nice knack of posting a Disneyland-themed promotion every year for Southern California residents.

That promotion is back, through May 20, 2019, and it involves both savings at the park (you'll score 5% off a ticket) and a free child's train ticket, when that child travels on the Pacific Surfliner with a paying adult.

There are savings, too, for people who don't call Southern California home, so those are worth perusing if a Disneyland visit is in your near future, and you won't be staying in or next to the resort.

Taking a train to the the world's best-known theme park?

It feels like a relaxing way to approach what is sure to be a super-fun, go-go-go day. That you can save money, too, in a couple of different ways only ups the glow.

A glow that will be furthered once you're on a Matterhorn Bobsled or Haunted Mansion Doom Buggy, after your train trip to Disneyland.

How many different vehicles can you board in a day, anyhow? Start your count with the Pacific Surfliner.
