Woman Stabbed to Death Inside Bronx Apartment: NYPD

Police were called to the apartment for an emotionally disturbed person

Police officers responding to a 911 call for an emotionally disturbed person inside a Bronx apartment found a woman stabbed to death there, police said.

Officers went to an apartment on East 174th Street in Soundview at about 5:30 p.m., and the suspect opened the door with a pair of knives in his hand, police said.

The suspect then slammed the door and barricaded himself in the apartment, according to police. Emergency service units were called in, and after a two-hour standoff, they were able to get in.

The suspect was arrested without a struggle.

Police found 21-year-old Tynasha Robinson inside with stab wounds to her body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robinson was the suspect's girlfriend, police said. He was charged with murder.
