A 63-year-old North Texas widow has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in the death of her husband, who was found buried in the front yard of their rural home.
Neola Robinson pleaded guilty Monday before the start of jury selection in her murder trial in Fort Worth.
Her husband, 57-year-old Ervin Robinson, had been reported missing in May 2010.
Neola Robinson initially told investigators her husband had run away with another woman.
The case went cold until the Texas Rangers took over in 2013. Robinson eventually led investigators to her husband's body, which was buried in the yard of their mobile home in Pelican Bay, located about 20 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
An autopsy revealed Ervin Robinson had been strangled.
