All-Women Leadership at Local Law School

Widener Law School's student government is bucking the male dominance of the legal field.

The News Journal reports the Delaware law school's student government is led entirely by women for the first time.

Student Bar Association President Liya Groysman says it didn't click with the new leaders until everyone was elected. They didn't set out to make history. There are more men than women in the student body.

According to the American Bar Association's Commission on Women in the Profession, two out of three attorneys in 2012 were men.

Widener is among the few law schools led by women. Dean Linda Ammons became the first woman and the first African-American to lead the law school in 2006. Only 20 percent of law school deans are women.
