WATCH: Tampa Five-Year-Old Takes First Steps

Five-year-old Bryce Santoro can now stand tall, and walk, too, after receiving special braces to help him go.

The Florida resident was born with club feet and spina bifida, making him unable to sit or stand, according to NBC affiliate WFLA. But after a visit to a Tampa hospital, Bryce was able to take his first steps, and the whole thing was captured on camera.

β€œIt’s amazing to see him stand up," Bryce's father Jesse Santoro said to WFLA. "The doctors that worked on him said it would be really hard to get him to stand up. He’s standing up. Nothing is going to stop him now."

Bryce walked as he steadied himself with the hands of emotional family members.

"I’m just excited for him," said mother Daniele Santoro. "I have been waiting for this for so long. I’m just super excited."

The family exclaimed Bryce was taller than his brother, and that he was now able to give him hugs.

While Bryce still has to ease into using the braces, his dad says they're going to do "anything at all" to help Bryce with whatever he needs.
