The New York Attorney General’s office has fined Uber $20,000 and has instructed the ride-sharing company to offer security after a series of problems in 2014, NBC News reported.

There was the controversy over the “God View,” a tool for Uber employees that showed every car and its passenger, and was alleged to have been abused. Then, Uber suffered a security breach in May that exposed data on up to 50,000 drivers, but Uber allegedly didn’t report it to their drivers or authorities until March of the next year.

Failing to disclose the breach is the source of the fine slapped on Uber by the New York Attorney General’s Office. Uber agreed to change its security policies instead of facing another fine for the God View, as per the attorney general’s press release on the settlement.

Private data, like who is riding in what car, will now be encrypted and access to limited designated employees.
