Trump's Support Drops in Military Communities: Polling

Military communities have voted for Republicans in every presidential election since 2000 by double digits

Military communities have long been a rock for the Republican Party, but polling data suggest they are developing concerns about President Donald Trump, NBC News reported.

His job approval in military counties dropped sharply in the last month, according to an analysis of Gallup polling comparing the first 100 days of Trump's presidency to the month of May. His support took a 16-point swing, dropping to 43 percent approval and 52 percent disapproval in May after holding approval from just over half in the first 100 days.

It's a far greater change than seen overall in the Gallup data.

Military communities have voted for Republicans in every presidential election since 2000 by double digits, and Trump won those counties, defined by the American Communities Project at George Washington University, by 17 points in November.
