Syrian President Dismisses Claims Government Used Chlorine Gas as ‘Propaganda'

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad dismissed claims that his government is using chlorine gas and barrel bombs on Syrian citizens as "propaganda."

"We cannot win the heart and minds of the Syrians while we are killing Syrians. We cannot sustain four years in that position as a government," Assaid said in an interview that aired on CBS News' "60 Minutes" Sunday night.

Syria's civil war entered it's fifth year earlier this month with more than 200,000 people dying as a result, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
