Surveillance Video Captures Suspects Stealing ATM

Surveillance video captured at least three men stealing an ATM from a Dallas convenience store early Wednesday morning.

Dallas police said they responded to a robbery call at a Shell gas station store in the 800 block of South Walton Walker Boulevard at about 4:55 a.m.

A witness told officers that three people wearing hooded sweat shirts, masks and gloves drove up in a Ford F-150 and backed the pickup truck to the store's front door.

Like a scene from the 2002 movie "Barbershop," one of the suspects pulled a chain attached to the truck through the store and wrapped it around the ATM. When the driver pulls away, the chain snaps, leaving the machine behind.

Two suspects are then seen dragging the ATM across the store's floor and loading it into the back of the truck, according to surveillance video.

Police said they later recovered the ATM near the gas station in the 3500 block of Westmoreland Road. The ATM was damaged, but it is unknown whether any money was stolen.

The clerk was able to get the truck's license plate, which turned out to be stolen.

No arrests have been made.
