Bakery Worker Dies After Being Dragged Into Mixer

A store worker in suburban Salt Lake City, Utah, died after getting pulled into an industrial-sized mixer, officials said, NBC News reported.

Sandy Police Sgt. Dean Carriger told NBC News that Carmen "Jackie" Lindhardt, 45, was using the appliance in the bakery department of a Reams Food Store when she became caught on a moving part that rotates to combine ingredients.

A coworker heard her scream and quickly ran over and shut off the mixer but it was too late.

Lindhardt was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning.

Carriger said investigators are looking into the incident.
