Stepdad Sentenced to Life in Prison in Necrophilia Homicide Case in Eastern Pennsylvania

Jurors in the case of a Pennsylvania man accused of killing his stepdaughter and sexually abusing her corpse took six minutes to return a guilty verdict Friday.

Gregory Graf, 54, was convicted of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse for the killing of Jessica Padgett and immediately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The sentencing came hours after jurors were made to watch roughly seven minutes of video of the alleged abuse.

The Morning Call of Allentown reported the video was compiled from eight recordings authorities said Graf shot over a span of two hours. It was shown on a screen facing away from court spectators, but audio could be heard, including profane comments made to 33-year-old Padgett's lifeless body. One juror teared up watching it.

Defense attorney Jack McMahon didn't dispute Graf killed Padgett last year, then hid her body. He argued the killing wasn't premeditated and "something snapped" with Graf.

Prosecutors said Graf planned it out and should be convicted of first-degree murder.
