Roof Over Shiloh Christian Fellowship Church Collapses

The roof of a church in Silver Spring, Maryland, collapsed Monday morning, days after a historic blizzard dumped 2 to 3 feet of snow across the region.

No one was injured when the roof over the sanctuary at Shiloh Christian Fellowship Church collapsed, according to Pete Piringer, a spokesman with the Montgomery County Fire. The church is located at 14905 New Hampshire Avenue.

A building inspector has been called to the scene.

Piringer said there's no fire hazard.

Parts of Montgomery County saw anywhere from 18.5 to 38 inches of snow over the weekend, according to The National Weather Service. Piringer did not say whether the snow was being blamed for the collapsed.

Several collapses have been reported across the area. On Sunday, 67 people had to be evacuated from an apartment building in Manassas when roofs collapsed under the weight of this weekend's heavy snow. The collapse of a Montgomery County barn trapped several horses Saturday afternoon.
