Authorities are providing the public with two new ways to provide investigators with information in the ongoing efforts to identify a little girl whose body was found in a trash bag on a Boston Harbor beach.

The girl, called "Baby Doe" by authorities, was found dead on Deer Island June 25, wearing leggings with white and black polka dots. A black and white zebra-stripe blanket was also found with the child's body.

The public can text tips, which will remain anonymous, by texting 67283 with the keyword GIRL.

There is also a new 24-hour tip line: (617) 396-5655.

The case has generated intense interest online, with more than 53 million Facebook users viewing an initial computer-generated photo showing what the child is believed to have looked like. But tips so far about the girl's identity have failed to pan out.

Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley, Massachusetts State Police Colonel Richard D. McKeon and Winthrop Police Chief Terence Delehanty held a press conference on Wednesday.

The girl had brown eyes and brown hair and weighed about 30 pounds. She stood about 3'5" tall.

"All we want to do is identify this child and someone out there can do it with one phone call or one text," said Conley. "We need to know who this little girl was, but we also need to know that no other children have been harmed or are in danger."

"The autopsy was inconclusive," said Conley. "She appeared to have been cared for. No theory has been excluded as a possibility."

"Baby Doe" will be buried as anonymous if no one comes forward.
