Ohio Man Pleads Not Guilty to Capital Murder in Officer's Shooting Death

An Ohio man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to capital murder charges in the shooting death of a Danville police officer, NBC News reported.

Herschel Ray Jones III was ordered held without bond on a 10-count grand jury indictment, including aggravated murder with death penalty specifications.

Officer Thomas Cottrell was found behind the Danville Municipal Building on Jan. 17, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. He was shot in the head and both his service wean and police cruiser were missing.
