North Korean Missiles Can Reach America, But Lack Guidance: US Military

With its latest missile test-launch, North Korea demonstrated it has the range to hit the U.S.

But, as a top U.S. military official tells NBC News, the rogue regime still appears to lack the guidance technology necessary to aim such a missle with accuracy or “reasonable confidence of success.”

On July 4, North Korea fired what U.S. military officials have now confirmed was the regime’s first intercontinental ballistic missile, marking a milestone for Pyongyang’s weapons program. Officials confirmed that the "two-stage" ICBM was capable of traveling more than 3,500 miles — meaning it would be able to reach Alaska.
