U.S. freestyle skier Maggie Voisin is out of the Olympics due to an ankle injury.

The 15-year-old from Whitefish, Montana, is the youngest member of Team USA. She injured her right ankle during training for ski slopestyle on Friday and doctors deemed she couldn't recover in time for Tuesday's competition.

Voisin was considered a medal contender in Sochi. She won silver in the X Games and was a discretionary pick by the U.S. Ski Team.

The Extreme Park course has come under fire by some riders in the run-up to the Olympics, with American snowboarder Shaun White pulling out of the snowboard slopestyle competition earlier in the week after jamming his wrist.
